SCUTREA is excited to announce the reinstatement of the Tilda Gaskell Award for Best Student Paper at the UALL- SCUTREA 2025 Conference in Liverpool. This prestigious award honours adult educator Tilda Gaskell, a SCUTREA member, who researched older adult learning and challenged the economic framing of lifelong learning by co-creating knowledge with older learners. This award recognises outstanding scholarly work and upholds Tilda’s values of dedication, methodological innovation, and expanding knowledge on older adult learning.
To be considered for the award, students are invited to deliver a lightning talk on their research topics, which should link to the conference theme: Go Higher – Lifelong Learning as the Heart of Sustainable, Equitable, and Future-Facing Universities.
This is an excellent opportunity for students to share their findings, engage with fellow delegates and gain valuable presentation experience. The winner of the Tilda Gaskell Award will receive a prize of £50 to recognise, not only their hard work, but also their potential to influence the future of our field. We invite all student members to apply and showcase your research at the conference.
